To broaden the international perspective of its teachers and incorporate advanced educational ideas and research outcomes, HUHST has selected 15 key faculty members to participate in a 14-day training program to be held in Silesian University of Technology in Poland, which is themed “New Materials and Green Intelligent Manufacturing.” On December 3, 2024, a pre-departure training meeting for the overseas training group was conducted in No. 1 Conference Room of Mingde Building. The meeting was also attended by an expert at Loudi Security Bureau and Mr. Zhu Qiang, Deputy Secretary of the HUHST Committee of CPC. It was chaired by Ms. Huang Min, Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchanges.

At the meeting, the expert at Loudi Security Bureau explained security precautions for overseas study. Besides, Ms. Xin Haolin, Deputy Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchanges, gave a detailed explanation of the overseas management policies and foreign affairs regulations, in particular behavioral norms. Ms. Huang Min, drawing on her experience in foreign affairs work and international exchanges, introduced topics such as diplomatic etiquette. The leader of the training group, Mr. Peng Zhichao, read aloud the commitment letter, and all group members signed a confidentiality agreement, demonstrating their sense of responsibility.

In his speech, Mr. Zhu Qiang emphasized that all members of the training group should cherish this training opportunity, emulate advanced educational and research methods, and participate in the program with well-defined goals. He encouraged all members to keep in mind the needs of major technological innovation and national strategic priorities, and aligning their own research focus with these realities to achieve a “mutual benefit.” Additionally, Mr. Zhu highlighted the importance of promoting China’s excellent traditional culture abroad, stating that all group members should act as both promoters of advanced Chinese culture and bridges for China-Europe friendship, while also demonstrating cultural confidence.

The training meeting was rich in content and highly relevant, helping to raise security awareness and laying a solid foundation for the smooth progress of the overseas training. It also showcased HUHST’s strong commitment to cultivating international talents and providing overseas training programs.

The meeting was attended by all members of the training group, as well as the heads of the Organization Department, the Publicity Department, the Human Resources Department, the Security Department, and the Office of International Cooperation and Exchanges.
